Digipen (digipen.edu) is supposedly a great school for learning game programming, but is more along the lines of a technical school. Its worth a look at, though.

There is also University of North Carolina Chappel Hill, which has a first rate graphics courses. Cornell is also known for a top graphics course.

I think any college will probably do though, game companies are more interested in what you can accomplish (demos, demos, portfolio of demos) than which school you went to. If they are interested in degrees, any school that isnt "Upstairs Hollywood College of the Technological (and Extera-Terrestrials)" will probably do.

which colleges (non-tech) are considered good by computer gaming companies? which colleges would they rather hire a guy from even though somebody else at college B has pretty much the same credentials? i don't want to go to a pure tech school, i need some variety, but i want to go to a school that is maybe not considered really good by the rest of the nation, but would look good on a resume when applying for a job at a computer game company.

In light of the recent Game college article, I must mention that Australia has them as well. So for those in Australia reading GameDev.net, I point you to these (all that I could find)...
