I have an excellent idea....
Why not make a forum for newbies.
That way, they can ask things like:
"C or C++?"
"DirectX or OpenGL?"
"Borland or Visual C++?"
etc...and it won''t piss off of veterens of this site.

But if there were areas like that, most veterans wouldn't visit, which would make the forum useless since there would be nobody to answer the questions. Besides, it sounds more like you'd rather have a flamewar forum judging by your example topics.

Coleco, don''t worry - just post your questions. I for one will answer a newbies question if I can, those that get pissed off about newbies bugging them with stupid questions are just jerks. Just ask your question, I''m sure someone will answer. Having a forum for newbies will just seperate the community, and anyone who posts there and then in another forum will be seen as a "newbie" there. I wouldn''t be surprised in the least if it became a stereotype, the world is just like that. If the Vets think they''re so high and mighty - well, that''s their problem.
