Am I the only one that feels a little sorry for the kid??

I know he's a Noob, but come on - let's not scar the kid for life.

The OP should feel lucky for having people to ask stupid questions - when I learned programming, the internet wasn't very widespread(I, living in the middle of nowhere, certainly didn't have it, and it was pre-95 so it wasn't widespread anywhere) and the only book on programming I could find was one that included a dos-based microsoft C interpreter/editor(not IDE because there was one source file per program only, and it only included about 20% of the C language) that came on 3 * 5 1/4" floppies. I think win 3.1 was out then, but I never could use it because practically every program required making a specialized dos boot disk with their memory expander loaded and nothing else, etc etc had to walk uphill both ways 3 miles in the snow etc etc...
