This may seem like a stupid post. But is there a way that someone could program a little program that can talk to the server or a college network to transfer a file to another computer, by use of their own software. I would like to make my own file transferer but I would like to know what steps are involved like, communicating with the server (if possible) and then having it send a file to any computer connected to the network. I have known someone in the past who coded a little prog. that let him send Windows dialog boxes to any computer in the network. so when someone was working a dialoge box came on the screen with his message. He said something about knowing how to talk to the server. But I know it ain''t that simple, as there must be restrictions and acces rights belonging to network administrators. Well...
