Hey, I'm developing a 2D game engine that supports all sorts of DirectDraw effects, including fades to any color, translucency, additive translucency, and 16-bit or 24-bit mode under any resolution >= 640x480. It supports multiple parallax layers, smooth scrolling in any direction, and full collision detection, and all data files, like maps, images, etc., can be compressed (and thus encrypted), and even compiled into the game itself, as resources. Soon, it will have DirectInput and DirectSound support.

I'm thinking of making it free to play, but $ to develop for. Are there any shareware publishers or anything that would do it? Or am I on my own?
