Twilight Minds Announce Brainiac BE 1.0 Open Source Release

The Twilight Minds Design Group today announced the launch of the Brainiac Behavior Engine 1.0 under an open source license. The Brainiac is a flexible AI toolkit and data manager designed to simulate emotional and physical human interactions under a wide range of circumstances. Programmers should find it easy to interface Brainiac functionality with existing software.

Twilight Minds founder Pietari Laurila said, "We are very pleased to be bringing Brainiac to the community; Brainiac is a superbly simple, elegant and adaptable tool. We at Twilight Minds believe that Brainiac's underlying ideas and innovations will blossom under an open source license."

The Brainiac Behavior Engine open source license allows Brainiac source code to be used or altered in any way, provided that all new or altered source code is then made freely available. If a developer or company wishes to keep their modified Brainiac souce code closed, then a separate license must be negotiated with the Twilight Minds Design Group.

Brainiac executables, source code, license and documentation are available for download from the Twilight Minds website: http://www.twilightminds.com/

The Twilight Minds Design Group is an international partnership of talented programmers, artists, developers and writers who share a common vision for the future of the computer gaming industry. Future Twilight Minds releases are slated to include the Genesis3D Windowing Interface and the Dynamic World.
