I am an expert in epic and inspirational, emotional, intense music. Specifically aiming to score films and games, emotional and epic. I love to score Drama, Thrillers, romace, horror, sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy-adventure, heroic epics and everything inbetween. With me the bigger the canvas i have to work with the better the quality of the end product and the more fun we have making it. I have access to some of the latest music equipment and have worked with and am working with several oscar, emmy, golden globe, grammy and other award winners. My carreer is supported by several a and b list hollywood personalities. The very first ULB horror short i scored, in march 2005, at the age of 18 won me the praise of James wan, darren lynn bousmann, keira knightley, lyndsay lohan and several others, I was also picked up by published novelist John Roach (as of 2007) for 6 feature films based on his books. At 19 i was hired to score the $25M movie 'the ghost of hangman's bridge' which will have specially written songs by folk legend Utah Philips, and screenwrtiting by an emmy winning 'united 93' writer. At 19 i also narrowly missed scoring Harry Potter 7 (the agent wished i'd been known to them at the time etc) I was put foreward to score the martin luther king movie by this agent. At 20, in the beginning of february 07, i rescored harry potter 3 and 4 in a spare 12 days i wanted to pass quickly. also at 20 some of the projects i was marked down for scoring since 18, are now involved in bidding between major distributors new line cinema, lions gate etc. I am also currently scoring 2 trilogies, 'Revelations', by lao dara, and 'zen' by gary davis. There are over 100 other projects, many of which are due for cinema release between now and 2010. I'm always free to talk to any talented person wishing to achieve what was thought impossible. latest tracks at http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=289762 all tracks are encoded at low quality for demo purposes. With no mixing and editing whatsoever. sincerely matt milne [Edited by - matmilne on July 28, 2007 9:32:58 AM]

That's weird. I thought that was John Williams.

Yes. But what about you?

Yeah number 3 is indeed by John Williams:

Number 4 is written by Cocker, Doyle and Buckle

Maybe he means something else, but for sure it is confusing, as is the whole topic to me to be honest.

I am here to find serious game makers, who have an ear for dramatic music, solid game making, and a reasonable amount of maturity, intelligence and experience.

If this doesn't describe you then don't come crying to me if you can't understand this very simple post.

but for your benefit.

Re scoring.
It means to take a film and change the music that is in it.
It's not a very confusing concept to understand.

Being based in the north east of scotland, and working with people and celebrities all over the planet makes you internationally renowned. Again not a very confusing concept.
Simply listing my international achievments and examples of my work is not a confusing concept, unless you are are a child and have a low iq, in which case you shouldn't be replying to a post like this.

As you can read in the quotes and as you probably found out (since you have edited your post), you had a typo in your post. You typed scoring instead of rescoring. I can asure you that is quite confusing if somebody makes a post and claiming to have scored Harry Potter 3 and 4. Due to this the rest of the post had got a bit an odd feeling to me.

You corrected it and this clears things up :)

Good luck with the upcoming projects. I enjoyed listening to your music.

matmilne- In all of my experience, insulting others on a public forum never leads to good things. Even if you're just being sarcastic, it isn't tactful and can easily be mistaken as being serious instead of joking around. Plus, it doesn't make you look very professional, regardless of your past accomplishments or resume. Very few people want to work with people that react in that way.

Just my two cents.

Your original post made me wince with its used-car-salesman style and slip-shod grasp of basic grammar and spelling.

I don't care how great you are as a composer: your post makes you sound like some jumped-up little prick with an ego the size of Glasgow. That's not going to get you much work in this industry. (And neither is mentioning that you somehow managed to find the time to rescore two major motion pictures to pass the time. Particularly as you also claim to have "over 100" projects in hand.)

Cut the bullshit.

  • This is a GAMES DEVELOPMENT website. We do NOT make movies. I don't care how many movies and shorts you've scored. That's about as relevant as a wannabe game graphics artist talking about how many installations and ice sculptures he's worked on. All this tells me is that you know how to write *music*. It doesn't tell me a damned thing about whether you can write music *for games*.

  • Your "epic and inspirational, emotional, intense music" style basically translates as "I do orchestral music". Great, except that's going to limit your potential. If that's okay by you then fine, but be explicit about this. It's quite possible to be epic, inspirational, emotional and intense using synths. (Just ask Mike Oldfield, Enya or Jean Michel Jarre.)

  • I've listened to your samples. They're good, but not as brilliant as you seem to think they are. Your site has a lot of similar-sounding pieces, but nothing that really stands out and makes me want to hire you.

Close, but no cigar.
Sean Timarco Baggaley (Est. 1971.)Warning: May contain bollocks.
writing for games is quite different to writing for films on the grounds that a film provides all the structure required. however good computer games are made like films, and generally do better if scored that way because of that.

i happen to think that those tracks on my site are rubbish, on the grounds that they're fake, have no editing applied to them, have not been recorded properly or in any other way professionally mixed. And they're taken out of context.
They're just a means of providing a very basic idea of what i can do.

I do admit that i tend to prefer working with people who dream, you know the type, the ones that are so imaginative and strive for impossibility, they get luaghed at by almost everyone, then produce something that shuts everyone up.
it's much more exciting than churning out factory nonsense.

provoking people is not necesarily the best practice but it quickly sorts the pompous and arrogant accountants out from the serious and creative artists.

And i'll set you all a challenge. Send me any piece of footage of your game, any cutscenes etc and i'll write you something that'll change your interpretation of not just me, but your own work too.

and as far as i'm aware, no 20 yo untrained musician has been taken on to score major movies alongside major people, so i'd say my potential was pretty difficult to fathom. Unless you're a creative minded person, you're gonna have a hard time seeing it on paper.

if you don't want to hire me that's your porogative, but if you don't try me out on a few small things like trailers etc, you're not gonna know what could be achieved here.
You're not gonna no for certain until you try. sending a video clip doesn't cost anything, and i can have up to 10mins scored in one day. And if you don't take me on, you don't take me on. all i want is for someone amongst this crazy group of people to have a go. what have you got to loose....

Your music's really good!

Its not a good idea to boast about how good you are though! People around here just dont care. If you are as good as you say you are, why aren't you writing for professional gaming companies?

I also write music for games, click here to listen

Anyway, keep up the good work!
