I am just wondering for a game artiist, would they use a 17" monitor for games like FF8 or other good graphics game?

I think the standard "Graphicians" monitor is either a 19", 20" or 21" monitor with a high refresh rate. 17" is a bit small for creating models in 3d studio max or most other programs.

In the graphic design company that I work with we all have 21" monitors, you will find that working with 3D Studio Max or Adobe Photoshop that you require alot of realestate. A 19" is very functional if you are on a budget just ensure that you can view at a minimum of 1280x1240 with 85hz refresh rate. "Remember it's your canvas"
