i nearly died thanks to my asthma. since then, i'm much more relaxed in life, and enjoy even bad moments for just being moments, that will pass, and get followed by more appreciated good moments.

i realized that, even if i would die right now, i had a great life so far. so i just continue to have a great life till it's over.
If that's not the help you're after then you're going to have to explain the problem better than what you have. - joanusdmentia

Caught in a poorly designed intersection where a red light was not too far from a railroad track. Traffic was backed up enough, and I was directly on the track in front of an oncoming train. I moved off around 10 seconds before impact. Not exactly "I cheated death" material, but it was a reason to raise hell over why such a dangerous possibility was allowed due to the layout of the roads.

I've almost dies in other ways, but they were pretty anti-climactic. (Choking, locked in car trunk as a child, you know)

Not to be a jerk, but it is driver responsibility to ensure that they can safely cross a level rail crossing. That is, if the road ahead is not clear, you stop Before you get to the rails, and wait for it to clear.

Less than 1 ton car < 5000+ ton train. The Train wins every time, and rarely takes a scratch. Don't screw around with trains.

...I don't think we do know... Did you lock yourself or were you locked?

When did I say I was driving?
i was a member of the lucky generation that discovered that a single dose of measles vaccine wasn't enough :P

so when i was 10-11 i had a mild measles, no big deal, besides my mouth that felt like shit, i actually stayed the whole treatment at home playing and i soon was 98% better, staying at home just because doctor orders

then suddenly out of the blue i had a Respiratory arrest, and spend 4~6 minutes completely unable to breath, the most long minutes of my life, and the most despair i ever felt

in a stroke of luck i recovered a little of my breath enough to be carried to a hospital

the measles had developed into a pneumonia, which lead to yet another pneumonia making me spend a good time on ICU taking lots of penicillin

but even now, if i have to consciously held my breath for some reason, when i go back to breathing i always get this "it wont work" feeling in the back of my head
