Vertex Arrays

OK ... my Geforce 256 reports the following extensions GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array GL_NV_vertex_array_range GL_NV_vertex_array_range2 along with GL_NV_fence what is the difference between them? and how do they improve over the generic vertex arrays? Regards

BTW ... i know that there is a limit to the number of vertices you can store in VAR memory (ie AGP mem), but what is that limit for different cards?
