It depends upon which Zelda you're talking about. The 2D or 3D ones.

As for 3D, as other people have stated, Darksiders and Okami.

For the 2D style, I'd suggest Alundra.

Pretty much everything has been said already with Alundra and Darksiders.

If you want it to be like Zelda with a bit of an RPG twist you could check out Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, or Secret of Mana.

Your question is interesting. I think that games like Zelda are meant for all audiences, not just younger people. I cannot think of a single thing about any Zelda game I've played that would make it strictly for young people, or turn off any adult who might want to play it.
