Well I am a professional 3D artist... but I didn't mean to sound cocky.

Yes, I'm currently working in Post Production at Nickelodeon in Burbank. Honestly the only work I have to show at the moment is from nearly 3 years ago when I was a student, and I'm not really sure my work is really relevant to the conversation. If you'd really like to see my work though, feel free to PM me and I'll try to show you some stuff.

Your stuff is way off from the concepts way off.. it's no excuse to be that off from the original concept. - I would say you need some more modeling experience.

lol....makecg your an amateurs. Are you serious? The only one that needs more experience is you.I am sorry but if that's what real professionals think,I wouldn't have a job in the industry(considering I have a full time job at BurningDog Media Inc. and me posting here is just to make some spare cash) :D.I am currently working on two projects aside of my real job, lets not forget my boss is Mat Hale creative director for Medal Of Honor,Command and Conquer, etc from EA(plenty of industry experience, knows what he wants).I mean most of these models I am showing are none NDA/Contract and they are low budget projects,Obviously I can't spend weeks on one character(aside from time frames, clients like my work and my goal is to have clients satisfied.).I am sorry to the forum community but I hope you understand where I am coming from,Its an insult.I post to help indie teams get quality work for a cheap price but yet I have amateurs telling me I am off on my work(when clearly they don't know what my clients want).I am not here to get feedback on my models or argue if my work is good or bad I am here to get some work,IF NEEDED.Obviously if my work is not good enough for a project I just won't be considered right. No need to post your opinions. So please NO FEEDBACK,work opportunities only.

Calm down, makecg words are a little bit harsh, but you got some attidute of being a professional artist yourself. But on the other side your portfolio lakes a certain degree of professionlity, take a look at forums like gameartisans or polycount to get a grip of what professional artist are capable of. A portfolio displays your artistic capability and it is not on par with your ego, to be honest.

Don't missunderstand me, you have some decent skills and it seems that you're getting better (from decent turtle warrior/battle master to the better assets later or currently in WIP), but there's some truth in magecg (too harsh) critique. Go to the mentioned forums and ask for critique on your WIP and for some advices to improve your skills/portfolio. I think that you could do much better with more practise and some advices from a game artist communtiy.

Atleast you should react in a more professional manner to post like makecg's and don't tell the community what to post in these forums. This is a forum, not your website or a rent-an-artist blackboard and the rules are given by the GDNet staff, not you.

Btw. here's a little quote of these rules:

"Bumping"

"Bumping" is when someone posts specifically to bring a topic back to the top of the listing -- often without adding any additional content.
As a general rule, bumping is not allowed in the Help Wanted forum. There are however certain conditions under which it will be allowed:

  • If after 2 days your topic has received no replies you may bump your thread once. Ideally you should first make some changes to your original post; try to provide updates and/or additional information. You may repeat this a few (not more than 2) times, after which you should wait at least 14 days before bumping your topic again.
  • If you are adding additional content you may do so by editing your original post; do not make a new post in this case.
  • You may at any time post to say all positions are filled and you are no-longer recruiting.
  • You may at any time respond to questions posted in your topic.

I completely disagree with some of you.

He is not asking for feedback, he is simply displaying his work for potential clients. He is right for responding the way he is, it is very rude to start critiquing his work in such a public fashion when it is not asked for. In the end it will only reduce his chances of finding clients and you are not helping him. It is even more rude to continue this behavior when he clearly does not want feedback. This is not a WIP thread, he is not asking for your feedback, if you want to provide feedback you should use PM. To me it looks more like some of you are trying to undermine him.

I think he deserves an apology.

Nestor, maybe it is better to start a new thread and specifically mention you do not want feedback in the opening post and maybe ask for a mod to delete this thread.

I am glad there's people who understand.I am going to make a new post and make sure to put a note so people won't give me feedback(considering this is only for work). Thanks again
