I've been working with Game Maker for about 2 months in my spare time and i dont know what i should do next

Im kind of thinking of going into C++ but i dont know any game engines

If you don't know C++ you should learn the basics of the language before thinking about game engines. There is so much to learn before you can use it properly.

If it was me just starting out, I would consider XNA and C#. Me no longer just starting out chose Unity (and C#)
