So who is still around these days?

Owl went to the great Ban Party in the sky.

On a related note; I do love these threads, mostly because I've been kicking about here for nearly 10 years (well, more than 10 years but nearly 10 since I registered this account) yet never once do I feel like part of 'the old gang'... and I'm ok with that :D

Any chance we can heal them with Phoenix Down?

And is nes8bit ever going to be unbanned? If no, why not?

He's still "banned" but he can actually post if he wants to. It was a joke we did when he helped us a little with coverage for GDC09. We feel he's earned his perpetual banned status, haha

WOW, I haven't posted anything important here (except my last idea request here in the lounge) in a long time. I still have visited just to see what's going on. I joined back in 2004 and yet it seems so long ago. I recognize many of the mentioned names though, especially Phantom because I was almost always in the OpenGL forum.

lol. That's good to hear. I remember only seeing him on New Year's and then poof, he was gone again. Too bad about Owl though.

I've been here for about 10 years. Unfortunately, the first couple of years was under another name which I have completely forgotten. But this leads me to my next point/request. Anyway, we can get an "Old School" Medal for us Veterans? (Old-timers just sound so wrong)

FWIW, Owl's ban was mostly self-inflicted. He knew he had problems and was unstable and causing more trouble than he was ultimately worth and when jbadams and I offered to put him on a moderated suspension he refused and just decided to go away for a while. Who knows he may be back someday... he certainly wasn't a case of "we never want to see you around here again" (at least, not in my mind)

I'm still around!
However, wasn't very active at all. :P
I've been a member since 2001, though I was never part of the "gang" so to speak as I spent more time reading than contributing.

I've come back on and off a few times over the years but, haven't done anything in the way of programming for a few years and have forgotten what little I learned. I'm back now as I'm focusing more on the writing side of things than programming.

What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared, to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heartrending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottom of his training shoes.
