You, sir, have changed my life. Upon reading your post I starved myself for days and meditated under the Bodhi tree. Thanks to you, friend, I have achieved true enlightenment and feel that I will miraculously rise above the stagnant masses of hopeful composers- only to become the very greatest video game composer ever to not have a solo music career!
If only you weren't there to make me see how flawed and naive I've been... imagine where I'd be. Lost. lost.

Cool it. This is a forum. People post their opinions and thoughts then others respond to it. If you cannot or refuse to understand how this forum operates then you'll find yourself removed from it. While you have clearly taken offense to my use of the word naive - I clearly explained what I found at fault with your premise. The difference between the two of us is that I'm focusing and addressing your comments while you seem to want to draw personal attacks by use of sarcasm. I wasn't attacking you. I was disagreeing with your opinion and thoughts. There is a difference. If you keep up this personal attack approach in this forum you'll be temporarily suspended. If you continue after that then you'll be banned.

Let me be VERY clear: I fully support an exchange of ideas and thoughts. Discussion is good after all! But what you're doing is isn't true discussion, attempts to take things to a personal level and is of no benefit to the forum in general. This is your warning.

I'd like to back Nathan up here. I agree with his point of view: there is probably no-one on this forum who started making music just to make money, but if you pick it up as a business, there better be some monetary value even for young professionals or start-ups. Education, equipment... and not to mention rent, food or family. It's possible to pay for all these things with your creative skills, but it takes a lot of energy and people who are not only capable of, but also willing to pay you. I am very glad there are still a lot of devs that know how valuable good customized audio is and that people like Nate or me actually do this as a job and as a passion.

Also, sarcastic replies like that are generally a bad idea, as you can tell by the post's score. It's okay if you have a different view on things, but please allow others to disagree with you without taking it personal.
