"This function -- which disassembles a compiled shader into a text string that contains assembly instructions and register assignments -- no longer exists. Instead, use D3DDisassemble10Effect."
Is written in the msdn documentation on "D3DX10DisassembleShader" , which puzzles me a bit.

I need to disassemble a Shader Model 4 shader (a pixel shader), and i need to do it in code.
Does this text mean that i don't have any formal disassembler?

The "D3DDisassemble10Effect" function gets ID3D10Effect* as input, which doesn't help me at all.

Pix obviously has that ability, so before i dive in to see what it uses, i thought I'd ask here if there's any public API way of doing it.

How about this function?

Best regards!

Thanks!
I'll give it a try =)

Seems like it wasn't intended for some to include both "d3d10.h" and "D3Dcompiler.h" at the same time... A lot of "redefinition" errors.
