The company I am with has built a location based social network that is as boring as cardboard. Ownership has decided to turn it into a "world changing" social game and I'm the one charged with making it happen. Problem is I have no idea where to start.

Who should I hire? What should I be looking for?

Someone, anyone...Please HELLLLPPPP!

This isn't a Breaking In question - moving it to Production.

Jim,
So. Suddenly you're a producer! That's often how it happens. What you need is a developer of social games. And you need one who's experienced, who can point to some games they've made. You should reserve a plane ticket, a hotel, and buy a pass now to GDC coming up in March. There you'll meet more experienced social game developers than you can manage to even meet.
You can also use some game company listing sites and game company map sites it you can't wait until GDC. http://sloperama.com/advice/links.htm
Good luck!
