On the other hand the score he wrote for The Lion King is breathtaking, in my opinion, and more melodic than the more recent examples being given.

Nice tracks.

I'm not doing any project, but I'll keep you in mind when I do need somebody.

Well, he has taste in his borrowing at least (Holst's the Planets is great) and the bit from CoMC (not heard that before - nice) is definitely one of the better parts of the PotC score. laugh.png The Dark Knight, though... bleh. Thanks for the explanation.

Yeah, he made better music back then. And I also like Holst's The Planets! It does sound like filmmusic rather than concert music. It's large scale of instruments, ideas, timbres and moods are incredible. It's something I would recommend to everyone who appreciates good music.

When I watched that movie, I didn't notice Hans' music much (in fact I didn't know he made music for that movie). I was more baffled by the beautiful animation and some catchy musical numbers (hakuna matata!). Maybe I should watch it again and listen more carefully to have an opinion about it. :P

Thank you! I'm looking forward to hearing from you in the future then.
Lion King has to be one of the best film scores ever written - amazing stuff, really - though Tim Rice and Elton John have their big share in that too (and I'm not really a fan of the latter).
