Links to Pseudo-random Theory?

Can anyone link me to some pseudo-random papers or websites? Google and Wikipedia helped me a bit but it's mostly other people's implementation of algorithms with little info as to why. I'm fascinated with noise and would like to spend some time exploring this exciting field. Actually, maybe this belongs in a different branch of the forums?
