If you are making a game where you can bet money on yourself.. sortof like on pokersites.
But the problem is that you need to let players who don't want to deposit to play as well.. And pokersites have play money tables for that.
But poker is a very different thing that a "real" game.

If You have for example.. practise matches where you can play without betting.. Only the good players who have become pro from playing practise will move on to playing real money matches... and only playing against players they know they are better against.

It works in poker because it's very different.. and a lot of luck involved that can make noobs have some nice winning streaks inbetween the long losing runs.. And you always think you are better than you really are in poker.

So I'm looking for ideas on different systems than what pokersites use if you want players to bet money when they play but you still need players who don't bet money.. Or maybe you dont need the non depositers?
And a good system for not letting them chose who to play against, Or else hardly anyone will be playing with bets because they only want to play against people they are better than.. = no one plays.. Unless it's for epeen.

People who put their money on the table don't want to play with people who don't. You have to keep them separated from one another.

Unless it's for epeen.

Obviously, That's not the dilemma I was having though.. I don't want players only playing the free practise games and never playing the bettable games because they will never play against someone that's better than them.

What?

How can you not know what epeen means when you are working in game biz?
It's basically someones online ego.. So if 2 big epeens meet they will fight each other even though they know it's possibly not profitable.. just so they can get more epeen (ego).

Funny you should say that (and, to Tom Sloper). I've heard this word for the first time in my life too. Google brings up a lot of pages about a WoW cheat bot, and neither Wikipedia nor Wiktionary seem to know it. Posted Image

But, back to topic... what makes you think someone would not wager money if there is something to win, solely under the assumption that anyone else is better? Greed is a powerful motivator (the main device behind every kind of con and every kind of gambling). Of course people will put money on the table if everyone at that table does.

I don't suffer from insanity, I'm enjoying every minute of it.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
