There aren't many guides or resources for learning sfx. I need some for a game that I am working on by myself but I don't know how to make sfx and need some resources. If anyone can recommend a place to star I would be grateful.

Buy sound effects, here are some really good sound effects libs for low budget: http://www.gamedev.net/topic/616168-affordable-sfx-libraries/
Then post-process them with an audio tool like: audacity

There are also resources such as http://audiojungle.net/ that have Sound Effects for sale for cheap. Most sound designers have staple libraries of sound effects that they post process in audio editors. You might want to just buy sounds if you're not really familiar with editing sounds. I second try using something like Audacity (Free) to experiment with processing effects.
