He is adamantly refusing to "do it for me." He wants me to learn.

You should just keep bugging him. He'll discover that he's spending more than an hour arguing with you, when he can get 75% of the big profits for just spending a measly hour programming your releasable game. [retroactive sarcasm alert][/retroactive sarcasm alert]

A good programmer could do it in an hour.

My friend did some hired gun programming on a triple A title, so he knows what he's talking about.

Tell him you'll give him 90% and you take 10%.

If he can write a polished AAA card came ready for the shelf in one hour, you will be both instant millionaires.

My resume is nothing when compared to Tom Sloper's. So, it would probably take me 6 months (double Tom's estimate) to make a commercial quality card game.

[edit]LOL Tom, you just beat me :)[/edit]
I want to ask the OP a simple question before commenting further on this thread.

What do you think your tasks and responsibilities will be once you have finished your design doc, gathered the developers and went into production?

You really need to check out Tom's CV: http://www.sloperama.com/business/resume.htm
