Hi, I am going to have a project on creating games for the new Windows 8 Platform using Visual Studio 2012. I can't seem to find any good or reliable game engine or library for creating a game for Windows 8 Platform.
I can't use Construct 2 because it is drag and drop tool with no programming required.

Any suggestion ? :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Ogre 3D already supports Windows8 (http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=69209)

Microsoft has released a specification for Windows 8 development.
  • Direct3D11
  • No D3DX usage
  • For Windows 8 and newer - XAudio 2.8 only
  • etc.
It would be not easy to find such engine.

Backward compatibility would be OK,
  • DirectX SDK June 2010
  • Direct3D11 without 11.1 level
  • XAudio 2.7
  • Windows SDK for Windows 8
  • DirectXMath
  • etc.
