very nice stuff on your site too,. your lighting/visibility implementation is wicked cool! will you release any code?
iterationgames.com remember when we used to play ?
I could share the code . But its not finished fully, have some small easy bugs.
That would make an awesome screensaver!
If you would add some fancy game features it could make a good selling game smile.png
I can show it to my friends at university and tell You what do they think smile.png
About the eyes... At the beginig I tought that they are going nuts, but they weren't. The lights in my room were. My mind was blown when I noticed what's happening.
When I launched your app lights in my room started to flicker (a little bit). When I minimised the game, they stopped, when I maximized they started doing it again O_O
I did only watch the video.

It looks a lot like Spore in black and white. The first part, where you're a single cell and have to eat to get bigger and bigger.

I would say, the water effect is too much. Just like when developers want to use a new effect and overdo it. Bloom, HDR, god rays, lens flare and in your case refraction (which is often overused for water or heat effects).
Sometimes less is more and if an effect is starting to have a negative impact on gameplay or usability just toning it down a little can help a lot.

Anyway, I still belive it's a pretty cool project and could be fun to play. For kids and adults, you just have to find a way to keep it interesting for some more time. Slowly introduce new gameplay elements and other stuff.

Good luck.
I like that a lot!
Make something out of it, please!
This is exceptionally pretty - the combination of the water effects, art style and the physical movements - It would be amazing on a phone/tablet. Just needs some gameplay :)
This looks really promising. Enjoyed playing with the demo. I agree that the water ripple effect may be a little overdone. Anyway, keep up the good work! - I'm looking forward to seeing what this turns into.

Cheers,
Mike
I played around with the .exe for it, and I also let my kids play it, and we all agree that the water effect does not bother us, but really looks cool. Maybe you found it hard on your eyes, from too much coding and testing :P

Anyway, really nice project, hope you keep working on it.
