In summary, Animate2D is a newly released 2D mobile character animation looping tool currently available in google play and will soon be available for the iOS platform. The 2D game engine used is WiEngine and APIs are available for incorporation into your mobile app either by coding your own loader or adapting the loader designed to work with WiEngine, which can be done relatively easily by extracting virtual interfaces for you to implement.

I've put together some more detailed documentation on how to use Animate2D and would like some feedback on the tools and manipulations available. The documentation can be found on my blog here (detailed description of tools) and here (more general description of usage).

Here is a short video sampler of some animations done using Animate2D. I am not a professional animator and did these myself using this tool.

I am eagerly awaiting feedback.

Kind Regards,
Animate2D

I'll have to figure out how i will go about that. Perhaps just setup a second camera with tripod and a holder for phone. Soon enough i will post a free version that does not have the ability to save. That should help gain exposure for the app.

Hello all,

Animate2D Lite is available for free on Google Play without ads.

This was done for those who would like to test drive the application to see if it is for you.

And of course there are restrictions, the free version will not allow you to save.

I've attempted the make the UI as intuitive as possible, but a page and a half or so of documentation on the blog may still be required for those who don't like to figure out how applications work. Experiment with the angle pins and delta propagate on existing animations.

I fixed a few bugs upon application restore. If you don't clear the app from your task history, it should restore to your previous point upon resume. As animation work can hardly be done in one sitting.

Attached is a screenshot of something i finished on the bowl today. 74 frames at 60 fps and butter smooth.

The price of the original app as been reduced as well.

Enjoy!
