2D Platformer TileSets

Hello, this is my first post on gamedev.net so thanks for taking the time to look at this.

I dont usually come to forums to ask questions because typically anything I am searching for somebody has already obtained an answer for but in my new quest to develop a game as a hobby I have stumbled across quite a few different questions that I have not been able to find an answer for and it drives me nuts so I figured I would ask...

So I know most snes platformer games (like Megaman and Mario) used a tile engine system. I have found tilesets for all the old Megaman games really easily. I wanted to make a rough mock up of a game in the style of Megaman X3 but when I went searching the internet I couldn't find a single tileset that anyone had ripped (besides one and it was quite odd) which made me start thinking that maybe the later snes games stopped using a tile engine the way I think of a tile engine. Anyways ill get to the point.

Can anyone tell me if Megaman x3 uses a tile based level design? And if so why aren't there and rips of the tilesets?

Im sorry that was such a convoluted question but its late when I am posting this and I am not sure how to phrase what I am asking. Thank you very much for your time.

You've been having trouble finding them most likely because they are copyrighted, or you forgot to use google image search. Sometimes, rarely most times, Nintendo sends out cease and decist letters to artists that use trademarked imagery.

Look at this.

Did you try google?

Thanks for the reply. And I think the problem is that nobody has bothered to rip the tilesets for the more advanced snes and psx megaman games because it is quite time consuming. And believe me I have already searched google, the google page that you linked me only actually has one Megaman x3 level tileset on it and it isn't very good. The rest of those tilesets are from NES Megaman games which are considerably easier to find since each staged only had maybe 16 tiles to work with. I believe if I want those types of levels I will have to learn how to put them together myself.
