just saw this, and noticed that the site is still available if you check the posts history.

While I am not a lawyer, I think we do enough already. The point isn't to expunge the link, just make it clear that we do not support such activity - both to the user and to any copyright holders.
To be honest I think there is enough time wasted policing other people's copyright as it is, I wouldn't support doing any more unless we are legally obliged.

Ja, I was a little annoyed to discover that our forums don't seem to allow deleting old revisions of posts. I'm sure Mike could make the edit in the backend, but it hardly seems worth it for an ebook upload site...

I think there are people on both sides who would debate reasons that a revision should be deleted. In fact I actually removed this delete feature when I heard comments to the effect that nobody should ever be able to mangle the edit history of a post. I like the idea that a post history is conserved always under all cases.
If the post is so terrible that it needs to be removed then we always have that in our back pocket as a moderation option, otherwise I don't even think I should be able to covertly go in and edit a post without there being a trail.
To those who refer to the edit history, great.. that's what it's there for. I think the moderators made it pretty clear by redacting the original post where we stand.
