Hi,

I tried Visual Studio 2012 during the beta on Windows 7 but it caused problems with DirectX 11 and I couldn't even compile the program.

So I uninstalled it, and had to re install the DXSDK because VS2012 changed DXSDK libraries and not even VS2010 was working.

Have this problems been solved in the final version on VS2012? Does it work properly in Windows 7?

I for one can use Win7 and VS2012 and DXSDK.

Cheers!

I am also using VS2012 + DXSDK on Win7, and it works ok now. With the older Developer Preview I hit odd issues with DX.

The bug you refer to may have been this: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/702649/after-installing-vs2011-preview-running-d3d11-apps-in-debugger-print-bogus-errors

I just installed VS2012 and my code is compiling but its generating thousands of warnings like this:

1>c:\program files (x86)\microsoft directx sdk (june 2010)\include\d3d11.h(918): warning C4005: 'D3D11_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND' : macro redefinition
1> c:\program files (x86)\windows kits\8.0\include\shared\winerror.h(49826) : see previous definition of 'D3D11_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND'

Any idea on how to fix it?

My projects get the same macro redefinition warnings. Hasn't seemed to cause any problems. It's a consequence of having the DXSDK and the Windows 8 Kits duplicating some things I guess.

You may find the advice at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ee663275.aspx useful - you can get rid of at least some of those warnings. It also covers issues you'll probably run into if you're using XInput or XAudio2.
