After doing some research and asking around on the forums, it looks like GameMaker is the ideal engine for me to start learning to make 2D games. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials online? I saw that the free edition of GameMaker does include some tutorials in the application. There are a ton of resources online, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks!

you could go to amazon and get the official gamemaker apprentice book straight from yoyo games
