vs 2012 express desktop. can not find the app to load.

hi

 

i just bought a new computer and trying to download vs 2012 express.  it was successful but i can not find the icon or exe file to run the ide.  where it is?  i tried file explorer but no luck. what is the name of the file that run the ide?

The shortcut name is "VS Express for Desktop" (replace "for Desktop" if you downloaded one of the others.).

(Bugs the hell out of me, too. I preferred the old way where you could just search for "2010".)


Another tip for Windows 8 - If you press WIN+Q, it shows you all of the programs you have installed, kind of like previous start menu contents except categorized in a huge grid. Unless you search the Win8 start menu only shows what you have pinned.

Also, on windows8, if you goto search (move mouse to top right and go down) and type 'express' its always the first thing in the list for me.
