i would like to install eclipse to edit python script. after downloading it, i also downloaded jdk-7u17-windows-x64.exe and installed it. but when i tried to run eclipse, it did not run and popups a window saying it need jre or jdk to work.

what mistake i made?

i previously succeeded in installing eclipse two years ago. after i bought this new computer, i have to install it again and i got this problem.

any help will be appreciated.

i finally get it to load. what happened is that i downloaded eclipse before i install jdk. after i deleted the eclipse and install it again, it works.

Try installing 32bit jdk
