Hello, I'm JLW, and this is my first time on the board. I'd like to introduce myself and ask a few minor questions.

My name is Jeremy Williams, I am a 20-year old male. I am a student at Edmonds Community College, working towards a certificate in game design. I'm also trying to start up multiple minor projects before I get my certificate, to increase my chances of success. I'm here to discuss various aspects of the core ruleset upon which my games are intended to be based, and the settings of the games, without going into too much detail about the games themselves. For instance, I wanted to talk about my armour system first.

I am an ardent troper, so don't be surprised if I use a lot of TV Tropes terminology. I am a weapon nut, I enjoy political satire, and I have an overall negative view of just about every establishment known to man. I am an atheist, I listen to a wide assortment of music from classical to heavy metal.  (Although my view of hip-hop is... less than positive and I outright hate country.) I love kids, and I want to have enough money to properly support a family without a partner.

EDIT:

Before I forget to ask, which subforum would be appropriate for my purposes?

EDIT 2:

You know what? I'll guess.

EDIT 3:

Also, all the info listed here irrelevant to my purpose on this site is false. I don't like putting information on the internet if it doesn't serve an end.

No man is an island,

Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were:
Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.

Hi Jeremy, and welcome to GameDev.Net!

It sounds like "Game Design" would probably be the best forum for your questions, but one of our moderators will move any topics they feel belong elsewhere. smile.png

Thank you. Already typing a post there, glad to know it's in the right place.

EDIT:

All right, first one is up: http://www.gamedev.net/topic/642031-armour-and-penetration-system-for-multiple-genres-feedback-welcome/?p=5054881

I'm having difficulty deciding what kind of thread to do next. Specifically, should it be a gameplay mechanics thread, or a setting thread? I think the former is more likely to be productive, but the latter I haven't done yet and I might want to try it. It'll take me some time to decide on my own, but I'll take recommendations.
