Which language are you using? I know good sources for Java.

I am assuming you have a solid understanding in Java.

Books:

Killer Game Programming by Andrew Davison

Developing Games in David Brackeen

Videos by ChernoProject 2D game programming in Java:

If you want to get an overall grasp on what's going on, I would recommend "Learning Modern 3D Graphics Programming" by Jason L. McKesson. It features OpenGL and C/C++. Here is a link to the materials: http://www.arcsynthesis.org/gltut/

Aside from that, as warnexus said above, "Killer Game Programming" by Andrew Davidson is a very good title.
