Tiny costs for indie classifieds

I was looking to see how much GD charges for posting "person wanted" ads and was kind of amused that compared to $180 for a proper company, it wanted a mere $7 for an indie position.

I was interested why - it's not going to make GD any money - and wondered if it's a deliberate decision purely to make people used to the idea of paying for stuff in principle?

Yeah it's not a lot of money.. but perhaps the very best solution would be to be able to post for free entirely and then pay just to make your listings stand out more if you want.

We are looking into moving to a system that is much more ideal for job ad management.

It's probably just so that the section doesn't get flooded with ads posted by people who aren't even serious to spend $7 on their ad

Yeah that's what I wondered. Seems sensible to me.

I don't like that there's such a gulf in pricing though. For instance my company is pretty much on the threshold but typically am looking for part-time contractors for a side project and at that level, $180 is a lot.
