Hey guys!

I recently finished three new tracks for the Antilia MMO. I hope you enjoy them:

This track is specifically written for the building mode in the Anitilia MMO video game. It has a slightly different feel with more momentum and less mood/space than some of the other tracks. The alto flute is replaced with a different, wooden flute. I hope you enjoy it!

Unlike Gathering Resources, which uses a different flute, the alto flute returns for this track. Staking your claim in the wilderness is a difficult but hopeful endeavor.

This track is specifically written for the building mode in the Anitilia MMO video game. It differs from the other two building mode tracks (Gathering Resources and Stake Your Claim) because it assumes more of the pacing, mood and instrumentation found in much of the rest of the soundtrack. The alto flute, again, carries much of the melody while the strings and brass create harmonies with swelling chords and counter lines. I hope you like it!

(Love the part at 1:20 in Stake-your-claim-2.)

I've found most tunes to be a little too "soft" for my personal taste. A Beautiful Home is closer to what I enjoy.

Could you link up to your other songs? (I see a lot of references to your comments and I'm curious).

Also, I wasn't familiar with Antilia, so I had a quick glance at the screenshots and I believe your music fits the pacing rather well from what I can see.

I wasn't sure if you are looking for critique, but here goes.

Gathering Resources instantly reminded me of a less campy version of the Sims 3 menu music (or maybe some of the townsfolk themes from Edward Scissorhands). I enjoyed the addition of tension at about :50, but I feel like there could be another layer of quiet arpeggio to accompany the piece in various spots. At about 1:45, the quiet nature and minimalist approach works perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing. Very nice work there.

Stake Your Claim is fun. I can imagine exploring and setting up my claim. The piece captures that naivety of starting new. The maraca was somewhat repetitive. It could be broken up more with a longer/quiet scraping sound similar to how a snare breaks up a beat.

A Beautiful Home is a very nice piece. It carries a lot of atmosphere with it, much better than the previous two in that regard. This one seems more mystical and arcane. You can feel the ancient lore in this song. I do really like this! It seems to fit the theme of the game the most. Good work!

Hey guys,

I appreciate the listens and the comments! Should anyone else want to learn more about Antilia, go here: http://www.antilia-game.com/

Sure thing, it's right here: http://madsenstudios.bandcamp.com/album/along-this-path The developer only wanted a non-exclusive license to this music so I've been able to release a CD of it. The MMO is still in development so it's very likely that more music will be added over time. Here's hoping at least!

Thank you! It's very possible that the music could be a bit more fleshed out but for the time being the developer and I are going to place it in the current build and test it for a while. The Build mode tracks are different from the in-game music which do not loop and are played randomly based on location and action in the game. The developer and I intentionally wanted the Build mode to sound and feel slightly different.

Again, thanks! A good observation on the maraca and I may very well revisit this after letting the music stew for a bit. smile.png

You're right - this piece is more aligned with the feel and texture of the other in-game music. The intention with all of this was to have a track come in and play for a while, then a cool down then cue the next piece randomly. I felt having three pieces of similar motion would be too distracting/tiring on the ear.

I really appreciate each of your thoughts and you two taking the time to listen and comment!

Thanks,

Nate
