Ads impersonating GDNet

I meant the quality of the community's ads have increased. At first, they were rather poorly made.

My stuff isn't ready for promoting publicly (other than tweets and journal entries), so I donated via the donate link instead, a few weeks back. I imagine alot of users don't have release-ready games.

The donation link needs to be more visible. Also, the advertise link has already been removed and is out-of-site again (now the 'news' banner is about your Construct 2 giveaway to promote your newsletter... but your newsletter doesn't generate the site any revenue). I think there needs to be a permanent and prominent location for both advertising and donating.

Ah yes, right.

We actually sell a "sponsor" banner in the newsletter, so it can generate revenue for the site when it's doing well -- newsletter sponsors have been somewhat sporadic of late though -- we're hoping to grow it and provide some good value both to the community and to product providers with these sort of give-aways so that we can generate more revenue that way.

We really don't want to have the site plastered with irrelevant bulk ads -- and it's often difficult to keep the site running with them -- so we're trying everything we can to find alternatives.

There we go, a somewhat ugly temporary fix again so the links are easy to find.

We're still thinking about how we could do something more permanent without it being annoying or intrusive. :)

Keep the feedback coming guys! :)
