a friend asked me too create some small game for pc for his 3year old daughter, because he wants her to learn how to use a computer mouse.

I know she likes cats like crazy, so I've created a memory alike game (with cat pictures) and she loves it.
I've also made a tile-shift-puzzle with cat pictures, but it is too difficult.

I'm not the most creative one, and it's not that simple to find existing games that I could clone (keep in mind, the kid is 3, the game should not have any frustration, no losing, no let-the-cat-kill-the-bird, etc.)

also, my art skills are limited, I mostly use free cat pics and sounds from the net.

throw your ideas at me, also existing card games etc.

How about a simple "click the cat" game, in the style of a whack-a-mole game? Obviously hitting the cats (as in the original game theme) isn't appropriate, but you could theme it so that you're trying to feed or to pet the cats rather than hit them.

Why not a game where a cat has to catch mice ? She would be the cat and by clicking on the screen would make the cat move. There could be a simple maze and the mice could move slowly.

Cat piano.
- A number of cats are displayed (maybe sitting on a fence). Clicking on a cat makes it meow's a particular note. You could probably get away with not animating the mouths.

Yarn catch.
- A cat sits at the bottom of the screen. A ball of yarn flies across above. Clicking the mouse cause the cat to jump up. Need one jumping pose and one sitting pose that can be mirrored + a ball. Count points.

Kitten Rescue.
- Not so sure how this would work exactly but it's probably a title a kid could get into. The thoughts in mind include jumping at the right place for the player character to collide with and "rescue" a kitten or get the PC into a position under a cat on a platform of some kind then when in the right position and the mouse is clicked the kitten jumps and is caught.

I started teaching my daughter how to use a tablet at the age of two. At first it was all learning games, clicking colors, shapes. Now she's 3 1/2 and she plays like teenage games. Ninja Fruit, Baloons TD?, some crazy puzzle game that is way beyond her age where she connects cogs and pulleys to make some object work correctly. (She's further in the game then me). (sad). She also like coloring games. I tried to get her to play this little robot programming game, but seems a little to far advance for her since it tries to teach basics of programming concepts (conditions mostly & few commands).

I think a Tablet though is a little easier to use for a kid then an Adult compared to a PC.

W/E you come up with, I think the Mouse Cursor should be much bigger then what it is originally to help with using of the mouse.
