This is quite frustrating, for some. Over the last 3-4 days I have been upvoted and my rep log says "Upvoted comment". When I click the link to see what comment was uploaded, hoping someone else has added to the discussion, it takes me to the front page.
This happens when someone upvotes your journal too. The only way to see what journal was updated is to sift through and see if there are any new upvotes.

Yeah, there's something dodgy about the journals - Mike would have to provide a more specific explanation, but unfortunately it apparently makes these things difficult.
The views counter will update sporadically to a more up-to-date counter, and on desktop you can check for new comments as Buckeye mentioned, but I don't know if the upvote issue can be fixed with the current software.
