Black Ops 3 sounds fun.

There is a reason that title is not in jacmoes List. And you probably know what the reason is... most probably the post above was meant "tongue in cheek", and just omitted the smiley that would have made that clear.

Just in case your last post was meant in a serious way:

If you don't like creating games, game dev most probably is not for you. Which is fine. If you like programming, but not developing games, there is a whole world just waiting on programmers that enter their industry, be it the financial industry, medical, whatever. And let me tell you, in 99% of cases you will make a much better salary at a lower risk of unemployment outside of the game industry.

Now, if you DO like to create games, you need to do some reality check. Check the list of people involved with creating Black Ops 3. Can you count them on a single hand? No? How long would it take you to complete the work of 100 people even if you were the expert in all the fields involved?

You WILL need expierience to become proficient in game development, you WILL need to FINISH projects to have something to show (and get the full image), and you will NOT be able to do that with a project of Black Ops 3 size.

If you cannot be assed to come up with smaller projects, or just take up the standart challenge to create the classics from the 70's and 80's if you lack the imagination to come up with your own small game ideas, you will not get far.

If you want to dive in head first and try to create "WoW Killer #99999" or "Better Shooter than Black Ops 3", go ahead. Try it. Just don't come back in a year when you haven't even finished the core gameplay systems while still struggling with programmer art if you use an existing engine, or still write your renderer if you don't and complain nobody warned you about the size and complexity.
