Is there a way to tell where up/down votes on comments are from?

When I get a up or down vote on a topic or reply to a thread, I can just click on it as it shows up in the lower right and it will take me to where the vote occurred. But occasionally I get a vote on a comment from a developer journal or somewhere, and clicking on it does nothing, and I haven't found an easy way to track down where it's from.

So per the topic title, is there a way to track that down easily? It's kind of nice to see where that's happening.

It's a hard-to-fix bug that the staff has decided isn't worth the risk.

As I read it, the difficulty is that this type of change means making changes to the standard board software, and the more changes they make the harder it is to incorporate patches. Since the change would require significant modification it has a high risk of breaking other things in the future.

(A recent similar version of the question is here, but it has been discussed many times since moving to the ip.board software five years ago.)
