Hi there community! I'm back with my effect/graphic questions!
I've been working on some effects and I've found some troubles to achieve them. I tried to ask about them on Unity Answers but they tagged it like offtopic and closed it. So I hope you could bring me some help!
Questions:
- Are they objects (group of objects), particle systems or shaders?
- Particle System VS GameObjects vs Shaders (pros - cons)
Effect 1 (The shadows of the white clothes man)
Effect 2
My thoughts
Its viable using the 3 techniques but each has its own cons:
- GameObjects: It's possible to build a gameobject (prefab) by cloning the "particle" and apply transformations over them. In effect1 I could instantiate 4 meshes on an exact point and add a script to "shake" them.
- Particle System: It's possible to build a particle system using mesh as render. The problem would be to "shake" the meshes as long as Unity doens't allow you to modify position on design view. So I should script it too. (So, why should I use a particle system instead of a common gameobject?).
- Shader: I think it's possible to duplicate the mesh in a shader copying vertex. The problem would be that "shadows/clones" would move after the main model, and thats not desired.
Help appreciated in advance
