If you get a free account on bitbucket you can have as many private repositories as you want and choose between git and easier mercurial, as long as you dont want to let 5 or more other people access it.
The website looks different, with some sub-pages better on bitbucket and some better on github, its just that github gained more popularity earlier cause of the git hype.

You can also get a free account on Visual Studio Online for up to 5 users and have access to both Team Foundation Version Control (a centralized version control system) or Git.

Or you can just as easily grab some plugins for VS and point them at the repository of your choice smile.png

Thanks for all the input guys, I am having a read about all of the suggestions. Leading towards visual studio online as I am a huge MSoft fanboy...

The thing about google drive that was annoying me is that you can only choose really one level of folders to sync so I can tell googleDrive\C++ and that's it, everything inside C++ is synced.

To be honest now that it is synced across all PC's google drive is working fine for now, but as you mentioned it is not really version control, so I think even a combination of both would suit my needs.
