I''ve got a .drv and .dll for a codec, but how do I install them in windows???

Try putting them in your \Windows\System directory. Then the program that is associated with those two files should be able to utilize them.

This is purely a guess, but have you looked through the registry any?

You may try running a search in the registry for a codec that you know is on your machine to pinpoint where you need to change the registry.

Just an idea...
