Would it increase the speed of my game to add a flag for transparent or non-transparent tiles? I''m using direct x.

It certainly couldn''t hurt. If the blits are done in hardware, I''m not sure if there''d be that much of a speed increase.

But if they''re done in software, telling ddraw there''s no transparency for a given blit should help out a bit.

Try it and see.
