Does anyone know what the fastest way to draw GUI components and sprites to the same area is?
I mean, I''m trying to write a game such as monopoly. Where I want to get user input using GUI (swing) and also draw fast graphics animation too.
(Yes I''m aware of that in this particular case the speed probably won''t be a problem)
For example, I also want doublebuff, so should I use JPanel as the whole drawing area (thus getting doublebuf for free) and paint to that?
Is there a way to create an offscreen buffer and paint my sprites to that and also force the GUI-components (paintComponent()?) to paint on that, and then just drawImage() the whole thing?
Also, is it fast to use Components as sprites?
