will MicroSoft not support OpenGL?

They will support it... they do support it, and they have to support it for the professionals the rely on it, especially for the "high end" graphics cards (like the Wildcat series that runs well into the 1,000+ range). They are professional "OpenGL" graphics accelerators. Microsoft doesn''t have to support it really though, because the writers of OpenGL and MesaGL will always support windows (until windows gets so bloated that it''s not worth the effort, and people have already switched to a better OS).
