First off check out our site and sign the guestbook http://baxters.narod.ru I have a few questions... 1 ASP and C are pretty similar, like i can understand c from my ASP experience, but is there a good way to transfer code direct (''tho ASP doesn''t support OPENGL yet!! ) 2 What are good books? 3 I wanted to use --==BAXTERS==-- (my usual format) 4 my username but wasn''t allowed it, why not? other users have such symbols. 4 If you need any extra habnds moderating then i love moderation, believe me!!! I have been looking at this orum and really respect you guys, you are top notch programmers, from one code dood to another, serious. I know I''m gonna get loads of help from you guys, and in return I can offer help with gifs and ASp, also I am a top web constructor, and know HTML pretty well too. Not really, C and ASP aren''t the same thing, ASP is mostly VBScript and therefore not C but VB. Second, ASP is for web sites, not for game programming. It''s a way of building dynamic web sites. Anyhow, that''s what I had to say about your question.

As someone who does know what he''s talking about, C is a subset of C++, and you''ll have to learn the syntax of C to program in C or C++. As to which you should learn 1st, that''s really up to you. People like SonShadowCat think C++ is the be all, end all of programming languages, when, in fact, the best way to program is to use C++ features only when it best fits the problem. Too many poeple use C++ stuff exclusively, and it makes the code more complex than it ever should be. Use C++ and objects when it helps you, otherwise, KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Just my 2 cents.

hello les here, i do the gifs and mine was the cool3d which is dithered.
and i dint take knidly to you slagging off my gif.
i worked hard on that to get it just right and 4 people thought it looked proffesional.

Anyways, the reason i posted was to say this:
Flash is NOT better than C, i bet Flash was programmed in C, i might be wrong there but its a good guess.
You can program ANYTHING in C, web browsers, games (both online and offline), databases, apps of all shapes and sizes, can you do that with flash? didn''t think so.

I admit flash is not bad if you do web sites but C/C++ is much better all round.
