3d modelers
I nned to start using a 3d modeler and i am wondering what formats are supported on the gmax modler
NONE!
The whole point of gMAX is to get artists to learn 3DS MAX (which is one of the world''s best modeling/animating packages anyway, except new versions are usually several thousand dollars), you CAN NOT export models to any game format unless you talk to discreet and agree on a price. The lack of any standard, posted prices makes me suspicious.
Try Milkshape 3D, its $20 and has all the functionality to create Quake 3 Arena level models. Tis a bit crude and slower to work with than gMAX or 3DS MAX but a fraction of the cost.
