Hi, I just wanted to ask what are your experiences with the online services for online payment like RegNow, Kagi, etc (those that work as a mediator between you and the customers), and what are, in your opinion, the most trustable sites for it. I''d be glad to know what are the alternatives for online registration for shareware, and how did those work for you. Thanks, in advance, --DK --H. Hernán Moraldo http://www.hhm.com.ar/

David would probably have a strong opinion on this topic.
He has used both Kagi and DigiBuy.

From a customers point of view of Kagi, the transaction was very quick with little hassle. But I guess the question is what sort of fee they take ?
Kurt from flipcode.com uses RegNow for his shareware game.
www.gradientstudios.com. you might want to fire an email his way and ask him.
I really do need to create a FAQ for this forum...

I''ve used all of the following:
Kagi
DigiBuy
RegNow
RegSoft

They all work. The differences boil down to your options available for setting up payment web pages, handling payments, fees, and so on. Pick the one that rocks your boat and use it.

Most of them have free account setup, so you can try them out without committing to anything long term.

I recommend setting up accounts with all of them, because each of them has different advantages, and different alliances with various major download web pages. But I also recommend using one of them as your "primary" service, and using the others to cover other oppurtunities as they arise.

Hope that helps.

I highly recommend RegNow.

Also, for note, a very cheap one used by a couple of companies is http://www.bmtmicro.com

They charge as low as $1.00. And we are going to try them for our PC and PocketPC stuff.

They are also used by people like www.retro64.com, so seem ok.

Thanks for the info, filrv.

Latest days I found a very interesting page on Internet, it''s a list of shareware registration services, comparing in a big table the different fees and yes, it marks BMTmicro as the cheapest service for $10 and $15 sells. I don''t know if the list is accurate, but if it is, it''s with no doubt a great resource for all of us.

Oh, I almost forgot to write the url. It''s http://www.blackcatsystems.com/regservices/.

Has anybody experience with www.swreg.org ?
Especially their micropayments (69 cents for orders <= 7$) sound interesting.

Please notice that your customers need to feel save. Choosing the cheapest looking service is definately NOT what you want.
