I really liked Ivor Horton''s Beginning C++. Covered C/C++ pretty well and is writen in a language that assumes you don''t know programming jargon.
Ivor Hortons Beginning C++ is an excellent book to learn C++. The first half of the book begins by teaching you C style procedural programming and the latter half of the book goes on to teach the object oriented techniques used in C++. The book is very thorough and leaves very few questions unanswered. Ivors writing style is straight forward and to the point which I like as I''ve read some books where the authors tend to waste a bit too much space making silly jokes and what not. I highly recommend it. I''ve read two books on C++ and this is by far the better of the two. Read reviews on Amazon.com to see for your self.
